Rush Studio connects via Slack OAuth with minimal scope. Here is exactly what it does and does not do.

What we access

The channels you choose. Post project news and command replies in the channels you explicitly allow.

The events you enable. Only the notification types you turn on generate a message.

Your Slack profile. Workspace and channel names, to route messages and attribute activity.

What we never do

Read your messages. The connection posts into channels — it does not read your team's conversations.

Post outside chosen channels. Messages only go to the channels you routed; nowhere else.

Act without the command. Commands only run when someone runs /rush — nothing happens on its own.

Does it read our Slack messages?

No. The connection posts into the channels you allow and responds to /rush commands. It never reads your team's conversations or channel history.

Which channels does it post in?

Only the channels you route news to. You set a default channel for unrouted alerts and can send specific event types to specific channels.

Can we limit who runs commands?

Yes. Commands can be open to the whole workspace or reserved for its admins.

Can different news go to different channels?

Yes. Route project status, review requests and slip alerts each to its own channel, with a default channel for the rest.

Do mentions arrive as direct messages?

If you enable it, a mention on a segment sends a direct message to the mentioned person.

How do we disconnect?

Disconnect from Rush Studio or remove the app from your Slack workspace any time — posting and commands stop immediately.
